Annual Oregon State
FFA Soil Judging Contest

High school students can participte in Soil Judging Contests through their local FFA Chapter. Most FFA Chapters are affiliated with a High School, but this is not a requirement.

Regional Soil Contests determine who will attend the State Contest. The State Contest is held in October and each year the location is moved to a different region. An average of 25-30 schools (FFA chapters) are able to participate in the State Contest annually.

Herb Huddleston, OSU Extension Agent, has been organizing this event for over 20 years.

This year will be the 44th Annual Oregon State FFA Soil Judging Contest and will be held
on Tuesday, October 17, 2000
at The Oregon Garden in Silverton, OR
