The Bicycle Recycling Coordinator will be responsible for emptying and maintaining outdoor recycling bins on campus.  He/she will be an employee of OSU Campus Recycling, receiving direction and supervision from the Recycling Program Manager. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Using the Campus Recycling bike trailer to empty outdoor recycling bins approximately three times/week
  • Maintaining the aesthetics of the outdoor recycling bins (removing posters and stickers, cleaning as needed, etc)
  • Assisting with other tasks as requested
Working an average of 10 hours/week during the 200-08 academic year

The Bicycle Recycling Coordinator will receive $8.50 per hour.  The wage may increase upon satisfactory work performance.

The Linn County 4-H and Extension Campaign is hiring individuals to help gather signatures on a petition to form 4-H and Extension District. The campaign needs to gather 11,000 signatures by the end of April to get the 4-H and Extension District proposal on the November ballot.

The campaign will assign you to a site in Albany (event at fair grounds, store front, library, etc.) each weekend. Normally, you will work in a team with one other person. You will approach participants (shoppers, library clients, etc.) with a clip board, introduce yourself, ask them if they are a registered voter in Linn County, and ask registered voters to sign the petition to form a 4-H and Extension District

Assists a research scientist who is conducting vegetation ecology research in
sagebrush steppe and riparian plant communities located in the northern
Great Basin. Projects include determining the impacts of wild horse on
riparian areas, investigating the effects of prescribed burning and mechanical
sagebrush thinning on wildlife habitat, evaluating the impacts of invasive
plant infestations on sage-grouse habitat, determining landscape scale
vegetation patterns, investigating management and climate influence on vegetation characteristics and sage-grouse habitat, evaluating
methods to contain and prevent invasive plant infestations, and investigating methods to shift succession to desired plant communities.
Duties include vegetation and environmental data collection, processing vegetation and soil samples, establishment and maintenance of
research plots, and data entry. Duties will also include assisting in some laboratory work. Travel and camping throughout eastern and
southern Oregon, northern Nevada, and southwestern Idaho is required.
40-50 hrs/week $11 to $12/hr, depending on expience and/or education Burns, Oregon Undergraduates in range, soils, wildlife, or other natural resource
fields. Must be able to lift objects that weigh up to 50 pounds including backpack
and kneel/squat for extended periods of time for sample collection. Must have a
