P & T TimelineJanuary - September -- potential candidates present an hour-long departmental seminar that highlights their activities. March 1 P&T committee notifies potential candidates of their eligibility for promotion and their opportunity to prepare materials necessary to be considered for promotion. May 1 -- candidate notifies P&T committee chair that they wish to be considered for promotion and/or tenure. P&T Committee Chair assigns a primary reviewer to work with candidates to develop dossier. July 1 -- dossier containing current and former position descriptions, candidates statement, and properly formatted vita is presented to CSS faculty for internal review; chair of P&T committee notifies all faculty of opportunity to review all dossiers in either hard copy or electronic format. Sept 1 deadline for receipt of all comments from faculty to P&T committee or Department Head, and for a departmental meeting to discuss candidates dossiers and provide further input. September - October -- a student review committee is appointed in each case where applicable and is asked to assemble information and write a letter of evaluation. Sept 15 P&T committee meets to vote on advancing candidates through external review process, work with candidates on final editing, formatting of dossiers. Oct 15 -- dossiers sent to external evaluators for review; clientele surveys mailed. Dec 1 deadline for receipt of all external reviews and evaluations; P&T committee conducts final vote on advancing dossiers to Deans office. Dec 31 deadline for completion of P&T committee letters of evaluation to Department Head. Jan 31 deadline for completion of Department Head letters, final compilation and assembly of completed dossiers to send to the Dean. |
