Crops Building
Space Utilization Guidelines
- The Crop Science Building Committee is responsible for considering all
space requests and making all recommendations to the Crops/Soils Management Team
(the Department Head and Associate Department Heads).
- Committee recommendations are governed by the
following assumptions:
- All space assignments are temporary and subject to change. Members of the
Department may be asked to vacate space if such changes are in the best interest
of the Department.
- The initial contact person for
space requests is the Chair of the Crop Science Building Committee (the Crops
Associate Department Head). Committee recommendations are forwarded to the
Department Head for final action.
- The Department Head has final
authority over all space assignments.
- Space needs are
considered on a priority basis with people having priority over equipment and
storage Space needs are considered on a priority basis with people having
priority over computers, growth chambers, other equipment and storage. In
so far as possible, all persons will be treated equally. When space
conflicts arise, faculty will have preference over staff, staff will have
preference over students, and permanent faculty and staff will have preference
over temporary faculty and staff.
- These guidelines
will be amended as needed with input from all segments of the Department.
- Items related to
building maintenance such as leaky pipes, maladjusted doors, broken tiles, etc.
should be brought to the attention of the Building Manager.
-
Building-related issues that are potential sources of conflict (e.g. space
infringement, noise, odor, etc.) should be brought to the attention of the Crops
Associate Department Head.
