Monitoring Kit
We are offering our grower group a resin-coated 'artifact' of mounted eggs, larvae, pupae, and adults as a reference piece and souvenir. In addition to our "MagNet kit" we are including: a hand lens, emergent cage, a laminated card booklet containing pest ID, life cycle, natural enemy id, monitoring techniques, DD model, wild host sources, list of IPM tools, pertinent papers on cabbage maggot management research, and a factsheet about cabbage maggots.

IPM Grower Rating = the PEST PLAN
IPM rating system = “Pest Plan”: All aspects of the project are designed to inspire grower interest in and adoption of IPM practices- from learning about cabbage maggot phenology and monitoring, to providing a supportive, collaborative, and information-rich environment of IPM techniques and systems thinking, and providing support to test out grower and researcher ideas in the field. We will encourage growers to sign up for the “Pest Plan” that is being evaluated by staff and growers. Growers will evaluate their progress in IPM currently through the use of a rating or point system based on their choices of best management practices and attitudes. This type of IPM continuum rating will be modeled after a similar program developed by the Wisconsin Potato and Vegetable Growers Association/World Wildlife Fund/University of WI collaboration for bio-intensive IPM potato production.
