1999 triticale variety trials at Corvallis, OR       

NOTES:

Madsen is a soft white winter wheat included as a check. Madsen yields in this trial were similar to Madsen yields in the Corvallis winter grain variety trials grown on the same field. Bogo triticale was also grown in both trials. Additional triticale data for 1999 can be found in the North Valley winter grain variety trial and the 1999 triticale N rate trials.

As phenomenal as the yields in this trial appear, the similarities in yields between this trial and other trials grown in the region suggest the data is valid. Data is from small plots (4 x 20 feet). Field scale trials are planned for year 2000.

Alzo and Bogo are winter triticales from Poland. Migo, Wanad, Gabo, and Kargo are spring triticales, also from Poland, that we grew in these winter trials.

All seed was treated with fungicide and Gaucho (insecticide).

Seeding rate was 30 live seeds per square foot.
