Preliminary Report - 1998 Seed Treatment Trial - North Valley (Cornelius), OR.

Eight seed treatments were compared on Stephens wheat during the 1997-1998 growing season. Plots were planted on October 17, 1997 and harvested on July 30, 1998. Plots were part of the 1998 winter grain variety trial at North Valley (Cornelius), OR.

There were no significant differences among any of the treatments in the trial. This is in contrast to a similar trial in Corvallis, where barley yellow dwarf virus (BYDV) pressure was high and Gaucho (imidacloprid) insecticidal seed treatment resulted in yield increases. Growers must consider the risk of BYDV when determining the potential benefits of using Gaucho.

This trial was paid for by Gustafson, Inc.
