Attendance will be taken each seminar. Students are highly encouraged to ask questions of the speakers. If necessary because a student is not able to attend a seminar, they may view the seminar on TV the night of the seminar (OSU cable access channel 27 at 8:00 pm) or with a video. The videos for each seminar will be on reserve in the OSU Library by Thursday of the week of the seminar. Students will receive one point per seminar attended for a total of 10 points.

Students taking this class for credit (one-credit, pass/no credit) are required to answer a series of questions on the OSU Electronic Blackboard for this course following each seminar. The questions will be available the Friday after the seminar and must be answered by the following seminar to obtain any credit for them (e.g., by noon on January 17, 2007 for the January 10, 2007seminar). The questions will no longer be available after class time the next week. Students must complete the questions once they start to answer them. For each essay the student can select from one of three articles provided by the instructors. Copies of the three articles or links to websites for articles along with instructions for the essays will be handed out in class the week before the essays are due. Essays are to be submitted back electronically to Dr. David Olszyk by noon the week they are due.
