Course Syllabus/Description

2 credits; Spring term

Description: 

Field trips to study soil and crop management for agriculture and forestry through the experiences of Oregon farmers, ranchers, and foresters. Trips visit dryland and irrigated farms in eastern Oregon, irrigated and non-irrigated farms in western Oregon, and managed forests and rangelands throughout Oregon. Field trip fee will be charged. PREREQ: Senior standing. CROSSLISTED as HORT 475/575.

Field Trips:	Saturday, April 12, 2002 (all day)
	Saturday, April 26, 2002 (all day)
	Friday-Sunday, May 16-18, 2002 (3 days)

Grade Assignment:

Course grades will reflect student’s participation in class activities and their ability to communicate what they have learned to others.

• Students are expected to participate in all three field trips as well as pre-and post-trip class discussions.
• Students who participate in all three field trips and turn in three field trip reports will receive A, A-, B+, or B grades, depending upon the quality of the written reports.
• An unexcused field trip absence or failure to turn in reports on time will reduce a student’s grade.
