Beyond Local & Organic: Future Directions for Sustainable Food Systems
Presented by: Jack Kloppenburg- University of Wisconsin-Madison
“Eating is perhaps the most intimate way in which we are engaged with the biophysical world around us and each other. For me, sustainability means living in material comfort, peacefully with each other, within the means of nature. I illustrate with concrete examples why the current food system does not meet those three criteria of sustainability. I discuss how the food system could meet those criteria.”
