A Cover Crops for Soil Improvement, Water Quality, and Pest Management Workshop will be held at the LaSells Stewart Center, Corvallis, OR on Tuesday, March 18, 1997. The meeting agenda is as follows:

9:15 Water Quality: Evidence of Soil Nitrogen Scavenging by Winter Annual Cover Crops - Del Hemphill and Dan McGrath

Crops Agent Training Session, March 18-20, 1997

Our annual Crops Agent Training Session will be held March 18-20 in Corvallis. The schedule is listed below:

 

Tuesday, March 18

9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Cover Crop Conference organized by John Luna and Mary Staben. Will be held at LaSells Stewart Center. There will be an afternoon field tour of local plots. General registration fee of $25.
4:00 Meeting of agents and specialists to discuss proposed plan of work and reporting requirements for 1997. Crop Science Building.
Evening Open house at the Ladd's.
Wednesday, March 19 - Crop Science Room 138
8:00 a.m. Faculty snap shots - two agents and two other faculty (30 minutes each)
10:00 Break
10:15 Faculty meeting - staff planning update, departmental efforts to plan continuing education courses for field reps and others
11:00 Herb Huddleston - Wetlands and Hudric Soils overview
Noon Lunch provided on-site - informal discussion with AREC staff on Ag. Statistics collection process and procedures planned for 1997
