Orchardgrass

Orchardgrass

Orchardgrass is a cool-season, perennial grass that grows in clumps, producing an open sod. It is commonly used in hay and pasture mixtures in the east central and Northeastern United States. It is tolerant of shade and grows in shady places such as orchards - hence it's name. It has seed heads that resemble chicken feet and is called "cocksfoot" in Europe.
