Kentucky Bluegrass

Kentucky Bluegrass

Kentucky bluegrass is a cool-season, long-lived perennial. It produces rhizomes (underground stems) and a dense sod under favorable conditions. It's leaves are smooth, soft and boat-shaped at the tip. Kentucky bluegrass is one of the most important pasture grasses in the east central and Northeast United States and is the most widely grown lawn grass. Kentucky bluegrass seed is smaller than that of all other commonly grown grasses but the bentgrasses.
