Organic Growers Club History!

This page is a working attempt to document past members, interns, important dates of new things like the first Hoo Haa, greenhouse, organic farming course, etc.

Season Seven : 2007

• Four organic oriented courses offered at OSU
• "Issues in Organic Farming" is offered again, organized by members Erica and Eric
• Bench space on campus in East Greenhouse 14 is rented for the Club.
• Summer interns are Danny, Elaine, Anne Marie, and Erica.
• Elaine, Danny, Cody, and Anne Marie emerge as prominent members of the group.
• Elaine is the new head treasurer.

Season Six : 2006

• One of the two first organic farming courses offered at OSU is "Intro to Organic Farming" developed by members Keelia and Hank
• Summer interns are Greg and Josh
• Deya and Brianna emerge as prominent members
• Web site management is transferred to the Club. Hank is webmaster.

Season Five: 2005

• Summer interns are Marshall and Hank
• Marshall and Hank emerge as prominent members

Season One: Origins 2001

The OSU Organic Growers Club began in early 2001 by a small group of students concerned with the impact of food production on our health and on the environment.  They hoped to empower students by connecting them to the process of environmentally sustainable food production.  They believed that organic farming and gardening would foster and enhance one's appreciation of the delicate environmental balance.
