Jennifer Parke graduated from the University of California-Santa Cruz and received her Ph.D. in Botany and Plant Pathology from Oregon State University in 1982. After a postdoctoral fellowship at CSIRO Division of Soils in Adelaide, Australia, she became an Assistant and then Associate Professor in the Department of Plant Pathology, University of Wisconsin-Madison. In 1998 she moved to Oregon State University where she is an Associate Professor (Senior Research) in the Departments of Crop and Soil Science and Botany and Plant Pathology. Her current research concerns the biology, ecology and epidemiology of Phytophthora ramorum, an Oomycete pathogen of native vegetation and nursery crops.
