Education

Extension Activities

Provide statewide extension leadership in production and management of grass and forage seed crops. This includes development of educational programs addressing post-harvest management and assisting extension agents in planning, establishing, and evaluating demonstration trials and adaptive research studies. Assume leadership for preparing the annual seed production research report to the industry.

Extend OSU liaison with seed grower and seed industry organizations including the Oregon Seed Council, Oregon Seed Growers League, Oregon Tall fescue Commission, Oregon Ryegrass Growers Seed Commission, Oregon Orchardgrass Seed Producers Commission, Oregon Fine Fescue Commission, and Oregon Highland Bentgrass Commission.

Serve as a member of the Oregon Seed Certification Board, the Oregon Seed Certification Variety Review Committee, and the Oregon Seed Certification Grass and Legume Advisory Committee.

Research Activities

Responsible for applied research in seed production agronomy investigating factors affecting yield and/or yield components of forage, turf grass, and legume seed crops.
