2007 Award and HonorsCarol Mallory-Smith (lead), Sujaya Rao and Ken Johnson (BPP) were selected to receive the LL Stewart faculty Scholar Award. The group has proposed to develop online courses in Integrated Pest Management that would serve both university students on and off campus and agricultural professionals in the community. 2002-03 Awards and Honors
2001-02 Awards and HonorsArnold Appleby, Emeritus Professor, was selected as the 2001 College of Agriculture Distinguished Service Award recipient from Kansas State University. Al Haunold, retired USDA hop geneticist and courtesy professor, Award of Distinction from the American Society of Brewing Chemists. He also received the Honorary Cross First Class for Science and Arts in Vienna, Austria. Richard Dick was elected a Fellow of the American Society of Agronomy. David Myrold was elected a Fellow of the Soil Science Society of America. William Young was elected president of the International Herbage Seed Group (IHSG). The IHSG presidency is a four-year term. Clinton C. Shock received the Governors Spirit of the Oregon Plan Leadership Award. He also received the 2001 Educator of the Year from the Ontario Chamber of Commerce and was recently named to the editorial board of Agriculture Sciences in China. Nan Scott received the Professor of the Year Award from the OSU Intrafraternity and Panhellenic Councils. Elizabeth Sulzman was the recipient of the College of Agricultural Sciences Executive Councils Distinguished New Professor Award. Donald J. Wysocki Excellence in Educational Materials recognition for the A-4 Extension Education Division for "Direct seeding in the Inland Northwest at the American Society of Agronomy meeting. Dan M. Sullivan, Clinton C. Shock, and Donald A. Horneck Excellence in Educational Materials recognition from the A-4 Extension Education Division for "Nutrient Management for Onions in the Pacific Northwest at the American Society of Agronomy meeting. V.K. Kishore and Sonali Gandhi were co-recipients of the "Outstanding Student Researcher of the Year 2001" award given by the International Association for the Advancement of Industrial Crops (AAIC). They were recognized for their work in the field of Meadowfoam genetics and breeding. Lynn Fandrich and Jari Von Zitzewitz (Graduate Research Assistants) won first places in the Sigma Xi graduate student oral and poster competitions, respectively. Harish Gandhi and Kee-woong Park (Graduate Research Assistants, won first and second prizes, respectively, at the Western Weed Society Conference.
