Graduate Research Assistantship (M.S.)
Crops Testing Program
Department of Soil and Crop Sciences
Colorado State University

M.S. thesis research will focus on some aspect of oilseed production for biofuel in eastern Colorado. However, this assistantship will be a part of a training program involving four M.S. students who will work in a multidisciplinary fashion. The other three students will focus on mechanical engineering, ag economics/public policy, and oilseed breeding. The overall intent of this project is to train 21st century scientists and technicians in multiple aspects of bioenergy research and development. Each candidate will be expected to conduct original research and work in the primary program in addition to fulfilling the coursework requirements for a M.S. degree. An appropriate internship with a private or governmental agency will be set up for each candidate. Regular meetings and interaction with the other faculty and students in this program will be expected. This is an exciting opportunity to become trained as a multidisciplinary scientist and become part of a growing trend of graduates trained in multiple disciplines.

The assistantship includes a stipend of $21,000 and in-state tuition for the first year until Colorado residency can be established. The tuition does not cover student fees.
