The Oregon State University (OSU) Potato Breeding and Genetics Program is integrated under the umbrella of the Pacific Northwest Tri-State Program in collaboration with Washington State University, University of Idaho and the USDA/ARS in Prosser, WA, and Aberdeen, ID

The main goal of the OSU Potato Breeding and Genetics Program is to develop high yield and high quality potato varieties.

In order to achieve this we are focusing on molecular and conventional breeding for disease, pest and frost genetic resistance on all market classes and specializing on colored flesh potatoes.

At this point the main diseases and pest we are focusing on are PVY, PVX, PLRV, corky ring spot, late blight, Columbia root knot nematodes, and tuber moth.
