We would like to introduce Dr. Gabriel Flick, new instructor for Ecampus weed science. Gabe is a native Idahoan who grew up farming in Idaho’s Treasure Valley. Gabe earned a Bachelor’s of science in agronomy from Iowa State University before returning home to Idaho to farm and work as a production manager for a vegetable seed company. After a few years he enrolled at Oregon State University to take a few classes and six years later he earned his Ph.D. in crop science under Dr. Carol Mallory-Smith. After graduation he moved back to Idaho and focused on vegetable seed production and processing. He currently raises and processes over 40 different seed crops on 300 acres just outside of Ontario, Oregon. Gabe met his wife Stephanie at OSU while she was earning an MS in comparative health science and working on her large animal surgery residency. She is currently a veterinarian in Weiser, Idaho, and together they enjoy raising their 11-month-old son and exploring the mountains around them.
