Hunter Doyle recently began his role as assistant professor of practice (extension agronomist) in Malheur County at the end of March. He just moved from western Colorado where he previously worked on alternative forage crops and irrigated agriculture. Hunter has a BS in environmental science and has a background in geographic information systems. He also holds a master's degree in Soil and Crop Sciences from Colorado State University, where he focused on forages and deficit irrigation. His role in Malheur County will be focusing on extension and some research around onions, potatoes, and other irrigated agriculture. As an avid outdoorsman, Hunter’s passion for plants, the environment, and water resources go far beyond his professional career. He is excited to be in Oregon and looks forward to building collaborative relationships that advance agricultural across the state and beyond.
