Dr. Jemila Chellappa joined the Department of Crop and Soil Science as Senior Instructor at OSU's EOU program. Jemila earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture (2008-12), Masters in Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry (2012-14) and a Ph.D. in Soil Science (2014-18) at the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, India. Jemila worked as a Soil Science instructor at The Indian Agriculture College, Tirunelveli, India during 2018-2020 and then moved to USA.
Jemila has a field and laboratory experience while working at the Soil Physics lab in the South Dakota State University, Brookings, South Dakota as a Research Assistant I during 2020-21 and then focused on research in the field of crop and soil science when she was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Plant and Environmental Sciences in the EREC, Clemson University, Blackville, South Carolina (2021-2022).
And now she is happy to be a part of the OSU, CSS family where she is going to do the job she loves as a teacher. In her spare time, Jemi enjoys sketching, reading, organizing and planning things for the week, and now being a new Mom spends a quality time with her seven months old baby girl.
