Faculty, Staff and Friends of the OSU College of Agricultural Sciences,

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Silvia Rondon has been appointed director of the Oregon Integrated Pest Management Center (OIPMC) effective July 1, 2021.

Dr. Rondon is a renowned expert in IPM, with expertise in the irrigated crops of eastern Oregon, and has worked closely with multiple commodity groups since joining our college in 2005 at the Hermiston Agricultural Research and Extension Center. Her appointment will help strengthen our IPM Center to focus on IPM issues and opportunities in Oregon and the west, enhancing our strategic goal to help our industries compete in their markets, domestically and globally.

Dr. Rondon is an active member of the Entomological Society of America, where she serves on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion task force and led the organization of the first Latino/Hispanic Symposium in her professional society—now on its 9th year.

I would like to thank the search committee and all who participated in the search for their service to the department, college, and OSU.  Their time and effort over the past several months has been invaluable. The committee is:
