Dr. Lauren Gwin Appointed Acting Director of the Center for Small Farms and Community Food Systems

With the recent retirement of Dr. Garry Stephenson, the College of Agricutural Sciences has appointed Dr. Lauren Gwin as the Acting Director for the Center for Small Farms and Community Food Systems, effective March 2, 2023. She will remain in the role until a permanent director is recruited. 

Dr. Gwin is well-regarded across Oregon and nationally for her applied research and engagement in local, regional, and community food system development. Her expertise is in food value chains, farm and food policy, and building institutional capacity for long-term change. She co-founded the Center with Dr. Stephenson in 2012.
