Wildfire Defensible Space for the Farm and Ranch
This is a webinar recording from May 2021 covering wildfire defensible space for homes and agricultural operations. Ariel Cowan, OSU Regional Fire Specialist for the Central Region, covers the home ignition zone (HIZ) and steps homeowners and agricultural producers can take on their structures to create wildfire defensible space. Jacob Powell, General Agricultural Extension Agent, covers additional steps farmers and ranchers can take to expand defensible space across their entire operation. Fire behavior in dryland crops is discussed, along with considerations for fuel breaks.

Emergency Action and Wildfire Prevention Plan - Word Template
Oregon OSHA created new requirements in 2019 for producers with employees who engage in suppressing wildfires on agricultural operations. Producers must have an emergency action plan and fire prevention plan. This template is designed to help producers create the emergency action and fire prevention plans that are required. This document is a Microsoft word document that can be edited and customized directly or printed and written in by hand.

Emergency Action and Wildfire Prevention Plan - PDF Template
Oregon OSHA created new requirements for producers with employees who engage in suppressing wildfires on agricultural operations. Producers must have an emergency action plan and fire prevention plan. This template is designed to help producers create the emergency action and fire prevention plans that are required. Even without employees these plans can help better prepare any farm of any size for the threat of wildfire. This document is a fillable PDF that can be filled out on your computer or you can print it out and write directly on it.

2021 Oregon Agricultural Wildfire Refresher
This course provides an overview of fire prevention, wildfire suppression, fireline safety, and fire behavior in dryland crops and rangeland. This course is one option for farmers and ranchers to complete an annual agricultural wildfire refresher in 2021 to meet Oregon OSHA requirements for producers with employees who engage in fire suppression on their property. This course should take about 90 minutes to complete and there is a course certificate available at the end of the course.
