Dan Ball is Professor Emeritus of Weed Science with the Oregon State University, Columbia Basin Agricultural Research Center near Pendleton, Oregon. He has been at the Center for over 20 years, with research and Extension responsibilities for weed management in dryland crops, and more recently with weed management in grass seed production in eastern Oregon and Washington.

Biography

Dan is a native of the state of Kansas in the U.S.A. He received a B.S. degree in Crop Protection from Kansas State University in 1976, an M.S. degree in Pest Management from the University of California, Riverside in 1981, and a Ph.D. degree in Weed Science in 1987 from the University of Wyoming. Before pursuing a Ph.D. degree, Dan worked with the Cooperative Extension Service in both Oklahoma, and Nevada. He has authored or coauthored over 70 refereed articles and Extension bulletins, and numerous abstracts and special reports pertaining to weed management issues in the Pacific Northwest.
