Academic Interests:

I am seeking a master’s student in the Crop and Soil Science Department at Oregon State University, pursuing an M.S. in Crop Science with a focus on Entomology. My research examines the abundance and mechanisms of insecticidal resistance in clover seed weevils (Tychius picirostris), a key pest affecting local white clover production. This work integrates crop science, entomology, and applied biochemistry to understand how insecticidal resistance develops and to inform more effective, sustainable pest management strategies for growers in the Pacific Northwest.

Looking ahead, my research interests lie at the interface of entomology and plant pathology, where I aim to study how plant diseases and insect pests interact to influence crop health and yield. I am particularly interested in developing and evaluating IPM and IRM strategies that emphasize durable management statagies of key pests and pathogens in Pacific Northwest cropping systems.

Biography

I am currently a master’s student in the Crop and Soil Science department. I am pursuing a degree in Crop Science with a focus on Entomology.

My academic path began at Clackamas Community College, where I discovered my passion for botany. I later transferred to Oregon State University, earning my undergraduate degree in Botany and Plant Pathology. During this time, I gained hands-on research experience in a plant pathology lab, which sparked his enthusiasm for scientific inquiry and problem-solving.

I chose my current project out of a blend of academic curiosity, personal passion for plant sciences, and a practical commitment to supporting the agricultural community. My long-term goal is to contribute to the development of sustainable crop management systems that directly benefit growers in the Pacific Northwest.
