Welcome Dr. Jing Zhou

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Jing Zhou has joined the Department of Crop and Soil Science as Assistant Professor – Precision Agriculture effective September 16, 2023.  Dr. Zhou will be serving in a leadership role in our department’s new Precision Agriculture in Seed Crops research and teaching program.

Jing earned a Ph.D. degree in Biological and Agricultural Engineering at the University of Missouri-Columbia in the Precision and Automated Agriculture Lab. Jing received a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Mechanization and Automation and a master’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, both from Nanjing Agricultural University, Nanjing, China. Jing was most recently working as a postdoctoral research associate in the Digital Agriculture Lab in the Department of Biological Systems Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Zhou’s research focuses on providing solutions for forming a sustainable food and agricultural system with emerging technological and computational resources.
