Minor Programs

Undergraduate minor programs in crop science, soil science, and entomology provide students with targeted study in key agricultural and ecological disciplines.

  • The Crop Science minor offers a foundation in field‐crop ecology, production systems, and seed biology, preparing students to engage with modern agronomic practices and crop management.

  • The Soil Science minor dives into the physical, chemical and biological properties of soils, emphasizing their role as vital natural resources in plant growth, nutrient cycling, and environmental sustainability.

  • The Entomology minor explores insect biology and ecology, pest management, pollinator conservation and the intricate interactions between insects and ecosystems.

Each minor program allow students from a wide array of majors to supplement their primary degree with expertise in sustainable agriculture, ecosystem stewardship and natural‐resource science.

  1. Demonstrate discipline-specific knowledge and skills.
  2. Find, synthesize, and interpret scientific information.
  3. Communicate scientific findings in writing and in oral/visual presentations.
